When the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro landed in Peru in 1532, he found unimaginable riches. The Inca Empire was at the height of its power. The streets weren’t paved with gold — but their temples were.

The Incas called their empire Tahuantinsuyu, or The Land of the Four Quarters. It stretched for over 2,500 miles, from Quito in Ecuador to beyond Santiago in Chile. The wealth of the land was extraordinary, encompassing rich coastal settlements, high mountain valleys, lush rainforests, and the driest deserts on Earth. The Incas ruled over roughly 10 million people who spoke more than a hundred different languages. It was the largest empire on Earth at that time. Yet, when Pizarro executed the last emperor, Atahualpa, the Inca Empire had existed for only fifty years.

Rivaled only by Ancient Egypt in longevity and by the Roman Empire in engineering, the Andean civilizations dominated a vast portion of South America for more than 3,000 years. Nestled within a cloud forest, the enduring symbol of this empire’s architectural genius — Machu Picchu — lies hidden between sacred twin mountains, invisible from below. Adding to its unmatched beauty, the flourishing landscape of Machu Picchu still reveals much of the original biodiversity enjoyed by the Incas.

Join us on this journey through dramatic landscapes, echoing with the roars of jaguars, the cries of monkeys, and torrential rains falling all around you, as the mysteries of this extraordinary civilization unfold and the artistry of the Andean people comes to life.

Guided by Ai Apaec, a mythical Andean hero, adventurers will open a window to transformation through the forces of nature — death and rebirth. In this world, nothing is fixed; beings can shift from one form to another. Immerse yourself in the magical universe of Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru.

The true history of the Inca civilization is still being written…

ADVENTURE SUMMARY

We’ve put together the most complete and immersive tour of Peru! There are so many incredible moments packed into these 16 days that it’s hard to choose just a few highlights—but here are some of the unforgettable experiences awaiting you:

* Lima – The capital of Peru, where we’ll explore the fascinating contrast between modern and historical sides of the city, visiting landmarks like the Park of Love, Surquillo Market, the bohemian Barranco district, the Historic Center with its Presidential Palace, and many other surprises.
* The Ballestas Islands, a natural paradise home to dolphins, sea lions, penguins, pelicans, and more than 200 species of birds.
* Huacachina Lagoon, a dreamy oasis in the heart of the desert surrounded by golden sand dunes.
* Scenic flight over the Nazca Lines, one of the world’s great mysteries and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — immense geoglyphs up to 20 km long, visible only from the sky.
* Arequipa – “The White City”, known for its colonial mansions built from white volcanic stone. We’ll visit major attractions like Santa Clara Monastery, the San Francisco Complex, and enjoy a panoramic view from Carmen Alto.
* Alpaca wool textile factory, where we’ll interact with these adorable animals and watch live demonstrations of the traditional sorting and weaving techniques.
* La Calera Hot Springs, rich in sulfur and iron, perfect for a well-deserved moment of relaxation.
* Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where we’ll witness the majestic flight of the condor — the largest flying bird in the world.
* Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons on Earth, plunging over 3,400 meters deep!
* Boat ride on Lake Titicaca and immersion in the surrounding local communities — we’ll meet local families, discover their crafts, take part in ancestral ceremonies, and help prepare traditional meals in underground ovens.
* On our route, we’ll visit ancient towns like Pukara and Andahuaylillas, where the Andean heritage and history dating back more than 300 years still come alive.
* Cusco, where we’ll explore the city on foot — discovering the ruins of the ancient capital, the grandeur of the Temple of the Sun (once said to be covered in gold!), and the vibrant San Pedro Market, along with many other iconic landmarks.
* ATV adventure through the Moray terraces, an important archaeological site showcasing Inca agricultural ingenuity.
* The Maras Salt Mines, where we’ll learn about the salt-harvesting process and admire breathtaking mountain scenery.
* The crown jewel of our journey – Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. We’ll explore its most remarkable archaeological sites and have plenty of time to take in the view and capture memories that will last a lifetime. Although the Incas built hundreds of stone structures here as early as the 1400s, legends suggest Machu Picchu was a sacred place long before that. In 1983, UNESCO named it a World Heritage Site, describing it as “an absolute masterpiece of architecture and a unique testimony to Inca civilization.”
* The spectacular Rainbow Mountain, painted in natural hues of red, gold, and turquoise — one of Peru’s most photogenic wonders.
* The floating Uros Islands, where members of the Uros tribe continue to live as their ancestors did, on handwoven reed islands in the middle of Lake Titicaca.
* And finally, a two-night adventure deep in the Peruvian jungle!

A true expedition through the heart of the Andes, Amazon, and ancient Inca world — this is not just a journey, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
