After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our tour of the Absheron Peninsula. First, we visit Ateshgah, the ancient Zoroastrian temple built by the Hindu community in Baku, related to the Sikhs. The next stop is Yanardag, the famous “eternal flame,” where natural gas has been burning for centuries on the mountainside.
We will then make a photo stop in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center, a modern architectural masterpiece designed by Zaha Hadid. After this, we head to Gobustan to visit the Qobustan State Reserve, famous for its prehistoric petroglyphs. Here we will visit Jvari, a 6th-century monument perched atop a hill, offering a view of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers—a landscape that has inspired centuries of faith and legend.
The next stop is Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, said to house the burial place of Christ’s tunic; originally built in the 11th century, the cathedral, together with Jvari, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, symbolizing the continuity and spiritual resilience of the Georgian people.
We then return to Tbilisi for a city tour, starting with Metekhi, from where we can admire the view over Meidan Square, and continue onto the Bridge of Peace, which connects the Old Town to Rike Park. The first stop is in Dilijan, known as the “town of forests,” a place of cultural and intellectual inspiration, home to numerous artistic and cultural figures of Armenia. After breakfast, we will begin the day with a trip to southern Armenia, visiting Khor Virap, one of the country’s most important religious sites, located near the border with Turkey and offering a spectacular view of Mount Ararat. This is the place where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years, and its spiritual atmosphere and legend make this visit a truly memorable experience. We will continue to the Temple of Garni, the only pagan temple from the pre-Christian period still standing in Armenia. Built in the 1st century, Garni Temple is a remarkable example of Greco-Roman architecture, with columns and sculpted decorations reflecting the craftsmanship of ancient masters. Next, we will visit Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, partially carved into the rock and surrounded by steep cliffs, a place full of mystery and serenity. According to tradition, the spear that pierced the body of Jesus on the cross is preserved here, giving the site an exceptional sacred aura.
